The event, which has an unrivalled reputation for bringing people together to share live urban music, will be hosted by Radio 1Xtra DJs.

Ace and A.Dot will be covering all of the build-up live from 4-6.30pm, with MistaJam and Target presenting a live show backstage from 6.30-11.30pm. The show will also be live on Red Button, streamed on 1Xtra’s website (bbc.co.uk/1xtra) and highlights will be available on YouTube and via BBC iPlayer.

To warm up for the event, Radio 1Xtra will also be putting on an ambitious outreach project of over 30 events in 30 days for 15-24 year-olds in Leeds and Bradford. The programme, that will run from 15 September to 17 October will be created specifically for the young people in the cities, and will include a range of Q&A’s, practical workshops, networking events and work experience opportunities, with insights from 1Xtra DJs and staff, artists and music industry professionals.

Flo Rida says: “To all my fans in the UK, I look forward to performing for you on October 17th.  My fans in the UK are great. I had the pleasure of performing before 100,000 recently and can’t wait to perform at 1Xtra Live for the BBC.”

Natalie La Rose says: “I’m super excited to perform at the 1Xtra event because it’s going to be my first big live performance in the

BBC Radio 1Xtra annual flagship event BBC Radio 1Xtra Live will be heading to Leeds for one of the biggest nights of the year on Saturday 17th October.

Hosted by Radio 1Xtra DJs, the event, which has an unrivalled reputation for bringing people together to share live urban music, will be held at First Direct Arena, Leeds and will feature performances from some of the best UK and international acts currently championed by 1Xtra.

The news follows 1Xtra’s Grime Symphony Prom that took place on 12th August – a celebration of the thriving urban music scene that saw rappers including Wretch 32, Stormzy, Krept & Konan and Lethal Bizzle perform at the Royal Albert Hall alongside Jules Buckley and his Metropole Orkest.

Further information about 1Xtra Live 2015, including the full line-up and ticketing information will be announced on 1Xtra in the coming month.

Donaeo & Lethal are NOT Saints…

We can expect to see more of Donaeo this year as he has linked up with Lethal Bizzle once again to produce the hot new single ‘Not A Saint’. The duo who in 2009 released the club banger ‘Go Hard’ have this time incorporated a dubstep genre for their latest track. Donaeo says “When I produced the beat for ‘Not A Saint’ all I thought was I had to get Lethal on the riddim and being that we already did Go Hard the chemistry was instant. I had the hook melody, he had the concept”.

Also earlier this week Donaeo has released his cover of ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ by Madonna ft M.I.A and Nicki Minaj, where we see the artist incorporate the infamous Azonto dance moves. Like I’ve stated in earlier blog posts http://mefirighana.com/blog/?tag=donaeo Donaeo is not playing this year as he keeps on producing bangers after bangers.

Why not check out the video below and remember to cop your copy of ‘Not A Saint’ when released on 19th March.
