Ghana being a part of commonwealth has given its citizens the opportunity to be part of the ever growing cultural exchange market. As such the United Kingdom provides the avenue for young Ghanaian entertainers the opportunity to exhibit their talent, especially during the summer, when multiple programmes are held to promote the whole commonwealth exchange agenda.

Dzifa Gray is the founder, producer and director of the Titi Gray Talk Show on BEN TV, (Sky Channel 184), airing every Saturday at 7PM. The first pilot was in March 2009, Ghana’s 52nd Independence. Chemphe’s ‘Number 1’:

hot or not?

Ghana’s most foremost urban life(r&b +all cultures) crooner Chemphe is back with a new single ‘Number 1’. The mid-tempo r&b love song also features his label mate Dr Cryme, who adds a bit of his twi-pop to spice the single up.  The video for the song was filmed and produced by Phamous Philms and the single is making waves in the Ghanaian charts, receiving a lot of airplay on stations across the country.

So what do you think: Hot or not?

Dr Cryme – Kill Me Shy

I know it’s a bit late with the video being out a for about a few weeks now, but seeing as the song ‘Kill Me Shy’ is probably going to be the summer anthem for a lot of Ghanaians out there, it’s only fair that a few words are said about the video!

First of all the concept of the video was great. The group going for auditions and the possible love relationship that might develop between Dr. Cryme and Ama K was quite entertaining. Choosing Citizen Kofi as location was also a nice touch. Even though it’s an entertainment spot I’m glad it did not turn out to be the typical music set in a club scene with girls gyrating on the dance floor. Quite refreshing I must say!

I also like the simplicity of the video. I mean there wasn’t too much going on so you could just focus on enjoying the song and Dr.Cryme’s wooing of Ama K Abebrese. And I must say the guest appearances of Delah, the award-winning Ama K Abebrese and the great highlife musician Jewel Ackah gave the video some celeb status.

Dr Cryme and his Twi Pop Band are definitely the hottest thing in Ghana right now and I hope the release of their official album in July doesn’t disappoint!
